Axon launches digital economy Fund for early stages

Axon Partners Group, the international investment firm, has launched a new Fund to invest in early stage, Spanish digital economy companies

The 10M EUR ICT II Fund aims to create a positive long-term impact on the Spanish economy and was created as an extension of Axon’s successful ICT I Fund, which has invested in companies like Wuaki.tv, Akamon and Nice People at Work. ICT II, however, would also look at Spanish companies with a particular interest in Andalusia.

Francisco Velázquez, President of Axon Partners Group, comments:
“The ICT II Fund is the next step in our investment strategy in Spain to support the ICT and digital economy sectors. Our idea is to replicate the ICT I Fund model of investing from seed stage of a company to growth; while strengthening or attracting talent to Andalusia.

“We are looking to work with energetic and talented entrepreneurs that already have a strong presence and the capacity to expand internationally. Axon’s extensive experience and entrepreneurial know-how will provide entrepreneurs with a strong partner, not only financially, but also for business development.”

ICT II has raised 10M EUR from private investors and the Jeremie initiative (Fondo Europeo de Inversiones) in Andalusia, managed by ‘IDEA’ The Innovation and Development Agency of Andalusia.
