Axon presents the results of its assessment of mobile services’ costs in 31 EU/EEA countries

On 28 May 2019, Axon presented the main results of the Study commissioned by the European Commission for determining the costs for providing mobile services in the European Economic Area (EEA).

These results will be one of the inputs the European Commission will consider when issuing its recommendations on wholesale roaming charges (instrumental for the Roaming Like at Home policy) and the mobile termination EuroRate (required by the European Electronic Communications Code).

During the workshop held in Brussels, National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs), telecom operators and other stakeholders from countries all around Europe had the chance to ask questions regarding the conclusions of the Study.

This event marks the virtual end to a project launched in May 2018 and which has included several rounds of interaction with European NRAs and operators. The results of the study are expected to be published by the European Commission in July 2019.
