Axon in the IFC study

World Bank´s International Finance Corporation calls on Axon and Real Wireless to evaluate economic benefit of wireless small cells in developing nations

Project overview

The World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) has launched an investment platform to support wireless investments (specifically in small cells and DAS) to enable private sector opportunities and boost growth in strategic areas. To cope with the exponential growth of mobile data traffic and the growing demand for in-building wireless coverage, small cells and DAS are gaining traction in the developed world – but IFC was keen to understand their potential in driving commerce and supporting national development targets in developing nations.

Axon Consulting experts partnered with Real Wireless, the world’s leading wireless experts, to analyse market opportunities and wireless technology-driven development needs. The two companies conducted an in-depth study to look at how and where IFC should invest within this platform to assist the deployment of small cells and DAS, identifying the optimum locations where IFC technology investments would have the greatest impact on development and ultimately supporting the World Bank’s mission.
