Hot Hotels becomes first company from Spain to be accepted by Techstars, USA

Hot Hotels, Europe’s largest mobile only same week hotel room booking app, is to participate in the Summer 2015 programme of TechStars Boston.

Hot Hotels was Axon Investment’s first investment from its ICT II Fund. The round of almost USD 1m in 2014 has helped the travel company solidify its market position in Europe and to expand internationally.

Conor O’Connor, CEO of Hot Hotels says:“Techstars is among the best of the accelerators in the world and Boston is where you find the technology behind many of the USA’s leading travel companies.”

Hot Hotels is the first company from Spain to join Techstars in the USA. Conor O’Connor (CEO), Adelaida Muriel Galet (COO), Gabriel Ortega (CTO) and Joe Haslam (Chairman) will travel to Boston. Located in the Leather District, near Boston´s South Station, the 13 week program began on June 4th and concludes with Demo Day on September 1st 2015.

Conor O’Connor concludes: “There is no hiding in a program like Techstars. Weakness in your business model are very quickly exposed. Now that searches on mobile have overtaken those on the desktop, our vision for mobile-first hotel room booking has never been more relevant to the future of the industry.”

Axon’s ICT II Fund is a fund focused on Spanish digital startups. Other investments in this fund include Glamping Hub and ByHours. More recently it invested in Sentisis, a social media analysis platform for the Spanish-speaking market and home cleaning services company, Wayook.
