Madrid,7th February 2018. Javier Martínez de Irujo joined Axon over a year ago to lead the launch of Axon’s Premium Brands strategy. A project dedicated to investing in traditional Spanish branded consumer companies with potential to capture value from technological disruption and digital adoption by consumer. During last year he combined his responsibility in Premium Brands, with being part of the selection committee of ICT III fund (chiefly Spanish technology companies in early and growth stages). He is now taking care of supervising Axon’s portfolio in Spain, including the coordination of ICT III and Premium Brands investment teams.
Javier Martínez has over 12 years of experience in venture capital, corporate development and capital markets, having worked both blue chip companies as well as startups (PwC, Santander, Fotowatio, Playthe.net) in sectors such as energy, Internet or media, in executive roles both in Spain and abroad. He has also completed his training with a Higher Program in Structured Financing & Private Equity at the IE Business School, and an Executive MBA also by the IE Business School.
